| OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAMBER
(a) Subject to prevailing law, Government of Nepal's guideline and having coordinated with concerned authority the objectives of the Chamber shall be as follows:
(1) To promote or make arrangements for promoting contacts and co-operation among industrialists, businessmen and other professional groups of Nepal and India, and work as a non-profit-making organization to fulfill this objective.
(2) To compile appropriate particulars and data concerning Nepal and India in the fields of trade, Industry, economic co-operation, tourism, etc. and establish and develop an information and Documentation Center.
3) To provide for necessary representation in the agencies of His Majesty's Government or other organizations and institutions in order to promote economic relations between Nepal and India.
(4) To organize visits or arrange for representation of people belonging to professional groups of Nepal and India in order to promote industry, trade, service and economic relations between the two countries.
(5) To arrange for transfer of technology and investment promotion between Nepal and India.
(6) To protect or make arrangements for protecting the collective interests of business and industrial groups of the Kingdom of Nepal engaged in business with India.
(7) To mediate or make arrangements for mediating in any dispute concerning industry and trade between Nepal and India, and take necessary action for the purpose.
(8) To conduct or make arrangements for conducting research in industrial, commercial and economic matters and publicize and exchange relevant particulars and data, or make arrangements for doing so.
(9) To publish newspapers or magazines or books or booklets on industrial, commercial and economic subject, as well as other useful subjects with due approval, and exchange or arrange for exchanging them.
(10) To make efforts for (the promotion) of industry, trade, technology and joint ventures, and organize or make arrangements for organizing conferences, symposia, etc. In that connection.
(11) To advise or provide legal counsel or help on matters relating to industry, labor and fiscal laws of Nepal.
(12) To organize or make arrangements for organizing trade fairs and exhibitions for promoting trade and industry between two countries.
(13) With above objectives of the Chamber, conduct various activities to render social services towards upliftment of the weak, helpless and fragile people of the society keeping in mind the financial status of the Chamber.
(b) The Chamber may perform other necessary functions to fulfil its objectives with out prejudice to Clause (a). |
