NICCI and Genese Solutions Convene Dialogue on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence

Kathmandu, September 1, 2026: The Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), in association with Genese Solution, convened a focused programme on “Cybersecurity & AI: Strategy, Maturity & Emerging Security Challenges” at Hotel Royal Tulip, bringing together business leaders, technology professionals, and stakeholders to examine the implications of rapid AI adoption and evolving cybersecurity risks for organisations in Nepal.
The programme opened with welcome remarks by Mr. Bhim Dhakal, Executive Consulting Advisor, Genese Solutions and Advisor, ICT Committee, NICCI, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Kunal Kayal, Vice President, NICCI. The keynote presentation was delivered by Niranjan Kunwar, Chief Technology Officer at Genese Solutions, who addressed emerging cyber risks associated with AI adoption, cloud dependency, governance, data security, and organisational preparedness. The presentation was followed by a vibrant Q&A addressing the practical challenges of responsible AI adoption, cybersecurity maturity, institutional readiness, and human capabilities.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, Board Member & Chairperson of the ICT Development Committee, FNCCI, and Business Head, Genese Solution. Mr. Kunal Kayal also presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Kunwar in recognition of his contribution to the programme.
The discussion shed light to the importance of moving beyond technology adoption towards stronger governance, cybersecurity preparedness, institutional resilience, and responsible use of artificial intelligence. NICCI reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating informed business dialogue on emerging technologies and issues shaping Nepal’s digital economy.
