Background:

Artificial intelligence has moved past the stage of an emerging technology trend. Boards, executive teams, and government agencies across South Asia now treat AI adoption as a decision for senior leadership, with direct consequences for cost, risk, and competitive position. Nepal's business community faces this shift with limited local platforms for structured, executive-level learning on AI strategy, governance, and implementation.

NICCI and EEC-Nepal propose to jointly organize a one-day workshop titled "AI for Decision Makers," to be held on 31 July 2026 in Kathmandu. The workshop brings business leaders, board members, and senior executives into a full-day, practitioner-led exploration of AI adoption, covering the economics of AI investment, governance frameworks, and organizational readiness.

Bosch Nepal Limited serves as the technology partner for the workshop. Dr. Caleb Munigety, Head of Enterprise-AI at Bosch India, leads the workshop as the featured speaker and facilitator.

Rationale:

Two gaps motivate this workshop.

• Executive decision-makers rarely find AI education built around their level of authority, budget, and risk appetite. Most available AI training targets a technical audience.

• Nepal's chamber and business ecosystem has few forums that combine practitioner expertise from a global technology company with local business context.

NICCI and EEC-Nepal, working with Bosch as Technology Partner, are positioned to close this gap through a single, high-value convening.

Target Audience

The workshop is designed for owners, C-suite executives, board members, and senior decision-makers drawn from the NICCI and EEC-Nepal member base, plus additional invited guests and paid participants from Nepal's wider business community. Capacity is capped at 150 participants. The proposal sets out the full participant allocation.

Objectives: 

• Equip leaders with a working framework for AI investment decisions, covering build, buy, and partner choices.

• Provide a structured introduction to AI governance and risk for boards.

• Give participants direct, hands-on exposure to large language model tools through guided exercises.

• Support organizational planning through a facilitated AI maturity assessment and a twelve-month roadmap exercise.

• Strengthen the working partnership between NICCI, EEC-Nepal, and Bosch as a platform for continued executive education.

Format and Approach

The workshop runs as a single day, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Eight thematic sessions, an inaugural session, two breaks, lunch, and a closing certificate distribution make up the schedule. The format combines short lectures, a live demonstration, small-group exercises, and a closing panel discussion. Section 6 sets out the full program.
