National Conference on Indian Steel Industry: The Way Forward

The global economic and financial crisis has adversely affected the Indian economy. Major economies of the world have considerably slowed down resulting in a weaker demand for various products and commodities including the steel. This has implications for growth of Indian steel industry in the short and medium term and may require reviewing of our targets of production and investment.
To understand the global steel industry outlook and to deliberate on various measures required to mitigate the impact of global economic crisis on Indian steel industry, FICCI and Ministry of Steel are jointly organising a one day National Conference on "Indian Steel Industry: The Way Forward".
